The adventure started with the alarm going off at 4:30am on a drizzly Saturday morning – beats a Saturday sleep-in! Despite the forecast, we were up and out the door, truck packed for our drive of over an hour to the hunting spot of choice. Rain jackets were packed and the quad bike was on deck for ease of recovery.
With greater knowledge as hunters, and with a growing conservation mindset, we’re now putting more trophy value on the age of the animal in addition to the physical traits determined largely by genetics and nutrition.
