With a leisurely start Friday morning after Easter weekend, we didn’t put tyres to pavement until after 9am. Around midday, we finally arrived at the hut after a quick stop at the Renwick butchers for a pie or two.
As the first rays of sunlight broke over the jagged peaks of the Southern Alps, a group of six adventurers gathered at the edge of a sprawling valley, ready for an unforgettable journey.
