Mini has cost me a couple of trout by jumping into the river right on top of a fish. Initially, I’d encouraged her to get into the rivers and streams on our walks – obviously, this was in preparation for game-bird retrieval. It’s hard to think of every outcome of your training or expect your dog to understand the difference between fishing and hunting.
