It was June 9, and winter had well and truly arrived. The early morning air was crisp as we laced up our boots and organised seven days’ worth of hunting equipment at the helicopter pad.
The adventure started with the alarm going off at 4:30am on a drizzly Saturday morning – beats a Saturday sleep-in! Despite the forecast, we were up and out the door, truck packed for our drive of over an hour to the hunting spot of choice. Rain jackets were packed and the quad bike was on deck for ease of recovery.
